It started with a diagnosis
Jon Sanchez had spent years building a life that looked exactly the way success is supposed to look. A demanding career, a full schedule, and very little time left over for anything else. Then in 2022, a cancer diagnosis stopped everything.
After a course of treatment and the long road back to himself, Jon received the words every patient hopes for: he was cancer-free. But his oncologist delivered a second message that would prove just as important.
A shift in priorities
Jon was told to slow down. So he did exactly that.
In February 2023, with his health restored and a new perspective in front of him, Jon took his wife on vacation to the stunning central coast around Oxnard — a part of California she had never seen.
Something about being near the Pacific Ocean reminded them both of what life could feel like if they shifted their priorities.
A reminder of what really matters
With a newfound love for the calmness of the sea, Jon stumbled upon a 65-foot Viking Convertible yacht. He brought his wife to see it, they toured it together, and the decision was immediate. It was the boat they had always dreamed of.
They purchased it, and from that purchase, Channel Islands Executive Charters was born.
Every charter is, in a way, a continuation of that story: a reminder that slowing down and connecting with what matters is not a luxury. It is a necessity.
