The vessel
What kind of boat is "Whatever It Takes"?
"Whatever It Takes" is a 65-foot American-built Viking Convertible Yacht powered by twin MTU diesel engines, designed for the open ocean and capable of reaching over 500 nautical miles offshore.
How many passengers does the vessel hold?
Licensed for six passengers by deliberate choice, our six-guest maximum transforms the experience from a group outing into a private sanctuary where our crew's attention never leaves you.
What amenities are aboard?
Over 1,200 square feet of heated and air-conditioned living space, three staterooms, a master suite with a walkaround king bed , a Sub-Zero galley, Starlink internet, and full overnight capability.
Is the vessel Coast Guard certified and fully insured?
Yes. Our captain holds a US Coast Guard Master Captain's license, our vessel exceeds all federal safety requirements, and every charter operates fully insured. We don't meet the minimum bar. We operate above it.
Can the vessel do overnight charters?
Yes, and it is one of our most significant advantages. With three staterooms, a walkaround king bed, full AC, heating, and Starlink internet aboard. “Whatever It Takes” is built for several days of deep sea yachting.
The crew
Who is the captain and what are his credentials?
Our captain holds a US Coast Guard Master Captain's license with 20+ years of offshore experience, including a decade of commercial fishing.
Is there a chef aboard every charter?
Yes. A private onboard chef is part of every charter we run.
The experience
What is included in every charter?
Every charter includes a USCG Licensed Master Captain, a credentialed deckhand, a private chef, and all food and beverage per your package.
Can we customize our charter?
Absolutely. Every charter can be built around what you are trying to create. Tell us what you have in mind and we will design the rest.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The safety of our vessel, crew, and passengers is the foundation of every decision we make. If conditions are unsafe, we will work with you to reschedule.
How far offshore do you travel?
"Whatever It Takes" is licensed to travel over 100 nautical miles offshore, but with a fuel capacity that supports over 700 miles of range without refueling.
Can we fish on any charter?
Fishing is available on the 8-Hour Santa Cruz Island Eco-Tour, the Catch-and-Cook Cruise, and the 3-Day Catalina Experience. All professional grade tackle and bait is included. A valid fishing license is required.
Food & Beverage
What kind of food is served?
Gourmet meals prepared from locally sourced ingredients by our private chef, plated 30 miles offshore. Depending on your charter, expect freshly caught fish, ranch-raised Angus beef, fresh pastries, seasonal fruit, and chef-crafted desserts.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Our private onboard chef offers custom food and beverage packages tailored to your group.
Is alcohol included?
Champagne, cocktails, fine wines, and premium beverages are included as part of every charter package.
Booking & Availability
How far in advance do I need to book?
Most charters are available within one week's notice. That said, popular dates and peak seasons fill quickly. For multi-day charters like the 3-Day Catalina Experience, we recommend booking as early as possible.
